DR ERIN HARRINGTON

Dr Erin Harrington is an academic and critic from Ōtautahi, and lecturer in critical and cultural theory at the University of Canterbury Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha.

Her work is interested in gender, sexuality, bodies, visual and popular culture, and horror. Her work has appeared in The Spinoff, The Pantograph Punch, The Playmarket Annual, The Physics Room, the Christchurch Art Gallery’s Bulletin, Theatreview, Stuff / The Press, in various essay collections and academic journals, and on air (including RNZ, RadioLive, BBC5 and TV3).

She appears frequently as a panellist, judge and speaker. She is the author of Women, Monstrosity and Horror Film: Gynaehorror (Routledge, 2018).
